“I’m not sure what I want. What do you recommend?”
Everyone’s needs are different, so we offer a free initial phone consultation. If we feel that our services or workshops may be a good fit for your needs at this time, we can explain your options and make recommendations. Phone consultations are on a first-come, first-served basis.
“I live far away. Can I still work with you?”
We offer many services that can be done long-distance, so you don’t have to physically come to us. These services include EnSofic Ray Healing, Jikiden Reiki, Spark of Life and Tarot Reading. For other services (and, of course, workshops), you’ll have to visit someone near you.
Currently, the Modern Mystery School has teachers and healing practitioners across the USA and in over 40 countries (who also travel globally in their work). We would be happy to provide the name of someone located near you – just ask!
“Do I need a reservation to see you?”
Yes. To book an appointment, please call us at (201) 236-0021 or email us.
“When do I have to pay, and what payment methods do you accept?”
Payment is required the day of appointment (if the session is in-person). Distance healing, including long-distance intuitive readings, must be paid for earlier. We will tell you more information at the time of booking. Currently, our payment methods include cash and check (preferred). Credit card is also available with advance notice.
“How do I find your center?”
We’re located in Midland Park, New Jersey – 30 minutes from New York City and accessible by the Garden State Parkway, the Turnpike, and Routes 208 and 287. Here are a map and directions for driving and mass transit.
“What are your business hours?”
Business hours are 9am to 9pm, 7 days a week. We are also available outside regular reception time upon request.
“If I want to cancel, what should I do?”
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for services and classes. Cancellations with less than 48-hour notice are subject to the full fee for the service or class. We understand that emergencies sometimes happen (i.e. physical conditions, accidents). In that case, we ask that you change your reservation or class to another day.
“What changes can I expect from healing work?”
Healing is different for everyone and may include physical, mental and emotional shifts. Clients have reported to us changes including lightness of heart, improved mood, less stress, powerful dreams, better sleep, relief from depression, clarity about major life decisions, feeling optimistic, improved flexibility and joints, better relationships with family and partners, being able to finally work through past trauma and grief, sharper physical senses and psychic intuition, finally being able to meditate, great luck and opportunities suddenly appearing in career and personal life, greater stability, sharper focus and a general feeling of deeper connection to Self and God.
We have also had several very pleased reports from parents of low-functioning autistic children who, after receiving Jikiden Reiki and EnSofic Ray Healing sessions, stopped bed-wetting and temper tantrums and began completing homework assignments, participating in school activities, waiting patiently in long lines and communicating verbally.

“How many sessions should I get?”
It depends on several factors including your goals and overall health. People see more and more results after several sessions, as each time we go deeper. (EnSofic Ray Healing, for example, offers a 3-session package, because each session touches on healing different aspects of you.) A lifetime of issues do not heal overnight – healing is a process. Depending on the menu of services you receive, we generally recommend beginning at a pace of one session every two weeks to 1 month for a total of 3 sessions.
As well, you may benefit from more than one healing modality, which is why we’ve created several healing packages. We can discuss with you a recommended schedule and possible healing modalities at your first session.
“Do I have to register before a class or can I just show up?”
Registrants are assured of a spot in the class, so if you show up unexpectedly and there are no seats left, you may be turned away at the door. On the other hand, if there aren’t enough students guaranteed for a class, we may cancel it altogether.
So your best bet is to register beforehand and reserve your spot. To do so, simply send us your name and contact info as well as a deposit.
“Is this mystery school a religion? I already follow a religious faith and I don’t want to give it up.”
In short, no, this isn’t a religion.
A primary difference between religion and a mystery school is that the former teaches dogma and the other philosophy. Philosophy works for all people regardless of nationality, culture, language, politics, color or belief – which helps explain the enduring success of mystery schools across thousands of years and why the Modern Mystery School’s student body hails from every continent. We have classmates with backgrounds in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shintoism, paganism and no religion at all. Personally, we’ve found this wide range of experiences and perspectives incredibly helpful when we work together.
To receive healing work or spiritual training in a mystery school means that a person chooses to step forward to create a better life for themselves, however they want that to look – you don’t have to give up anything you don’t want to. Empowerment means making your own decisions based on what’s best for you. We respect other people’s choices and, really, it’s none of our business how (or whether) someone else chooses to worship.
“Can I write for your blog?”
We’re really flattered when people ask if they can write for our website! As a matter of policy, though, no, we’re not looking for guest writers.
